Secrets don't make friends.
Sante writes any essay about secrets. Sante gives three breakdowns of secrecy: Soviet Union/ KGB, internet, and "confessional culture"/media. I would agree that internet is a nemesis to secrecy because you can find out a lot online. There's everything from movie listings to why Lindsay Lohan got arrested again. The Soviet Union/KGB would be under secret societes because they know the "three-finger handshake" so to speak. The media has a plethora of secrets. Sure, there's the one's that the papparazzi here about and you see on the cover of People but there's also the one's that only a select few know about. For instance, when someone wins on a show, unless it's Wheel of Fortune or something like that, then the person who won knows, but most likely the public won't know until three weeks later.
